Where We Have Come From

Our roots go back to 1916 when thirty-five people responded to the need for a church to serve the growing population of East Dallas. With its first sermon, “Revealing Jesus,” Rev. J.H. Snow spoke into life the passion that still drives us today. Over years, East Grand Baptist Church grew. On Easter in 1952, 1823 people gathered in worship. Although engaged in extensive mission initiatives, demographics shifts and aging facilities became great challenges. In 1998 the church broke ground for its new facility in Mesquite. Dedicated on May 21, 2000 GrandView Baptist Church was born to continue its passion of “Revealing Jesus.”
