Missions Opportunity - Embera

The Burkhalters are Southern Baptist missionaries serving the Embera, an indigenous people group from Columbia. The Embera do not have a Bible in their language yet and historically have been unable to read or write.

Today, the Embera, who were formerly farmers, have been displaced to Medellín, Columbia fleeing violence. In this unfamiliar urban environment, they seek ways to support their families. The Burkhalters and their team help the Embera people with meals, literacy training, and earning wage by marketing their beautiful handmade jewelry.
