Core Values
- The Bible is the inspired word of God to people. (2 Timothy 3:16)
- God desires an intimate relationship with people. (John 3:16)
- Prayer should permeate the life of all Christians. (Philippians 4:6)
- Christians should serve God and the church by using their spiritual gifts. (1 Corinthians 12)
- Christians should engage in evangelism. (Matthew 9:38)
- Fellowship is an important aspect of a church. (Acts 2:46)
- Members should give finances freely and joyfully to the Lord's work. (2 Corinthians 9:7; 1 Corinthians 16:1-4)
Beliefs
- Bible - We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired written Word of God to mankind. We teach that the Bible is the key to understanding life and affirm that the Bible is the final authority for all matters we face in life. (2 Timothy 3:16)
- God - We believe in one God, who is the Creator of all things, who is infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1)
- Jesus Christ - We believe that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He is completely God and completely man. He lived a sinless life, and he died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins as human beings. Further, He rose bodily from the dead, went back into heaven, where He now abides as our Lord, Savior, and mediator. His death and resurrection make Salvation possible to everyone who believes in Him. (John 1:1-3)
- Holy Spirit - We believe that the Holy Spirit is God in Spirit. The role of the Holy Spirit is to help guide people into an understanding of their need for a relationship with Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit lives in every person who has declared that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior. He convicts people when they sin and helps guide and empower the believer throughout life. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
- Mankind - We believe that from the beginning of time God created people in His image. Man is not the product of chance or evolution. Everyone in the world was created by God. (Genesis 1:27)
- Sin - The first man and woman were sinless, walked around freely with God in paradise; deliberately chose to sin against God, severed their sinless relationship with God, and created a sin problem for all of mankind. (Romans 3:23)
- Salvation - Today, all people must choose to follow God by believing in Jesus and praying to accept Him into their life. This enables all people to have a relationship with God. It is not automatic; it is a personal choice that every person must make for himself or herself. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
- The Church - We believe that the Church is the spiritual body of Jesus Christ and the family of God. It is made up of people who believe in God, have prayed to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and have been baptized by water immersion. The Church should meet regularly as it seeks to spread the life changing message of Jesus Christ to our community and beyond. (1 Corinthians 12:12-14)
- Evangelism - We believe that every person has the responsibility to tell other people about God and seek to disciple them in their faith. (Acts 1:8)
- Eternity - We believe that the Bible teaches about eternity in Heaven and Hell. Everyone who chooses to believe in God is promised an eternity in Heaven with God and other believers when they die physically. Everyone who rejects God and dies is destined to an eternity separated from God forever in a place of torment that the Bible calls Hell. (John 10:29)
- Baptism and Lord's Supper - We believe that Jesus taught his disciples to remember His death and resurrection. He gave the church two symbols which we call ordinances as reminders. These two ordinances are Baptism and the Lord's Supper. Neither of these two ordinances are required for salvation. The ordinances are simply outward signs of an inward change we call salvation. Baptism is a one-time action where a person is dipped below water (after having accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior) as a symbol of identification with Jesus as Lord. The Lord's Supper is an ongoing symbol remembering our Lord's death, burial, and resurrection as well as his promise to return to earth one day. (Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-32)
- The Home - We believe that God has clearly given the parents or guardians of children the primary responsibility to teach and train their children to know about God. The Church is here to support and guide in that process. (Ephesians 6:4)
